What is Dyslexia?

The latest Delphi definition (2024) describes dyslexia as a set of processing difficulties that affect the acquisition of reading and spelling skills.

While reading and spelling are the most widely recognisable signs, dyslexia can also be associated with a range of related difficulties — such as working memory, processing speed, and phonological awareness. The new definition recognises this complexity and views dyslexia as existing on a continuum, meaning that each individual’s profile is unique.

For those who would like to explore the definition in more detail, the full Delphi definition and supporting information can be found on the SASC Website: www.sasc.org.uk

Book a Discovery Call

Feel free to call or email to arrange a friendly, no-obligation discovery call.
This is a relaxed, informal chat where I can:

* Talk through your child’s learning profile and any concerns

* Explain what’s involved in the assessment process

* Help you decide whether a full assessment is the right next step
